Novice
Class transmitter kit from 1970’s, AA-peli
In the 1970’s in Finland novice class
power was limited to 15W and a transmitter had to be XTAL controlled. 80, 40 and 15m CW were the only allowed bands
on HF.
At that time I designed this small transmitter
which was then sold as a kit. The
business was organized by OH1AA club and the project gave a nice boost to the
economy of the club. AA comes from OH1AA and peli stands for rig. Aapeli is
also a mans name in Finland.
About 200 of these TX were built and
they are circulating on the second hand market. Many people have asked
schematics of the rig. Therefore I put it here.
